‘Devaswom asked me to build door, visited Jayaram's house to rest'; Unnikrishnan Potty denies all allegations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sponsor Unnikrishnan Potty has denied all the allegations levelled against him in the Sabarimala gold plated sheet controversy. Unnikrishnan Potty revealed that the Devaswom asked him to build a new door for the sreekovil. He said they approached him saying that it was difficult to close the existing door and five friends took it over together.


Govardhan of Bengaluru bore all the expenses. No one else had used gold or money for it. Unnikrishnan Potty said that after the door was built, a puja was performed in Chennai for a day. He clarified that he went to actor Jayaram's house on the way to rest.


Meantime, it is reported that Devaswom vigilance officials will not question Unnikrishnan Potty today. Although there were reports that Unnikrishnan, who reached his house in Thiruvananthapuram two days ago, will be questioned in detail today. The investigating officials said that no notice has been issued for this. Unnikrishnan Potty’s statement was recorded twice in Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru. The officials said that they will summon him if necessary, based on new revelations.
