ALAPPUZHA: U Prathibha MLA delivered a moral speech harshly criticizing the actors. Prathibha said only sexy actors are needed for the inauguration of shops and institutions, and if such actors come, people will flock to see them. The MLA also criticized the television show hosted by Mohanlal. The MLA's controversial remarks were at the closing ceremony of the annual celebration of the Kayamkulam Eruva Nalanda Kala Samsamkrishna Vedi Ganthasala.
‘The society is crazy of celebrities. I don't understand why. The new culture is to bring sexy actors for inaugurations. If such actors come, everyone will throng to the programme. Are the people of Kerala so stupid? Such practice should change and should ask them to come decently dressed. Don't accuse me of being moralistic. It is necessary to dress decently. We live in a place where people have the freedom to wear clothes or not wear,' said the MLA.
The MLA severely criticized the television program hosted by actor Mohanlal. ‘There is a peeping-tom show in the evenings. The show watches others secretly while they sleep and then comments on about their tight clothes. This show is hosted by an immortal actor. The superstars are not needed for democracy. We should be ready to say with courage that we are humans working amongst the people,’ said the MLA.
