PALAKKAD: The family of Arjun, the 14-year-old boy who committed suicide in Pallanchathanur, has come forward with fresh allegations against his teacher. The family alleged that the teacher had brutally assaulted Arjun about a year ago, and visuals showing his injuries from that incident have now surfaced. They also alleged that the teacher tried to influence Arjun's classmates. The family has demanded that the investigation be expedited.

The school management had suspended class teacher Asha and principal Lissy following the suicide of Arjun. The action was taken after Arjun's parents and relatives alleged that teacher Asha was responsible for his suicide. However, principal Lissy had earlier told the media that the parents were to blame. The management committee said that a departmental inquiry against the teachers would continue and assured that strict action would be taken if any wrongdoing was found.

According to reports, Asha had scolded Arjun for using Instagram in class. She allegedly threatened to report him to the Cyber Cell and warned that he could be sent to jail. Soon after returning home, Arjun committed suicide. Some of his classmates said that he had been very upset after being scolded by the teacher. The family later filed an official complaint against the teacher.
