SIVAGIRI: The centenary celebrations of Sree Narayana Gurudeva's Mahasamadhi will begin tomorrow with two years of informative and devotional ceremonies led by the Sivagiri Math.
The Gurudeva Parinirvana Centenary Celebration Conference will be inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu at 12.50 pm. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Minister VN Vasavan, Minister V Sivankutty, Adoor Prakash MP, MLA V Joy and others will participate. The centenary celebration is being organized by Sivagiri Math in collaboration with Narayana Gurukulam, SNDP Yogam, Gurudharma Pracharana Sabha, Sree Narayana Samskriti Samiti, Sree Narayana Temples, Sree Narayana Clubs and regional Sree Narayana movements.
Preparations in final stage
The central and state departmental security preparations ahead of the President's visit to Sivagiri are in the final stage. A helicopter trial run was conducted at the Papanasam helipad. Joint inspections were conducted by the Navy, Coastal and Marine. The police are collecting information on workers from other states, including those working in resorts and institutions.
The police road trial will be held today on the route from the helipad to Sivagiri. Draupadi Murmu, who will reach Sivagiri at 12.40 pm on the 23rd, will have darshan at the Mahasamadhi. She will participate in the Parinirvana Centenary Celebration Conference from 12.50 to 1.30. The conference will be held at the Sivagiri Pilgrimage Conference Auditorium. The President will have lunch with the Sivagiri Math Sanyasi Shreshtha. Draupadi Murmu will depart from Sivagiri at 2.40 pm to reach Papanasam helipad at 2.50 pm. The helicopter will take off for Thiruvananthapuram after that.
