Boy dies after swallowing bottle’s cap in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A four-year-old boy died after swallowing a cap of a bottle. The victim has been identified as Muhammed Shahal, son of Ummer and Mufeeda of Aadhur in Thrissur. The incident happened Thursday morning at 9 am.

The boy was seen gasping for breath and soon he fainted. He was then taken to a hospital in Marathamcode, but was declared brought dead. In an examination conducted, the cap was found struck in his throat. The hospital said that he may have choked to death after swallowing the cap. After postmortem, the body will be handed over to his family.
