Attempted to sexually abuse 11-year-old girl; headmaster arrested

KASARGOD: A school headmaster has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually abuse an 11-year-old girl in Kumbla. The arrested person has been identified as NK Sudheer (54), the headmaster at Badoor Padavu school. The incident took place on Sunday night. According to the police, the accused allegedly attempted to sexually abuse a girl who arrived at a housewarming ceremony. The police have booked Sudheer under sections of the POCSO Act.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing and impregnating a 17-year-old girl in Thiruvananthapuram. The arrested youth has been identified as Sandeep (Kiran), a native of Chemmaruthy. According to the Ayiroor police, Sandeep befriended the girl and later exploited the relationship to sexually abuse her. The incident came to light during a school counselling session, after which teachers alerted Childline. Based on their report, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act.
