Car rams parked lorry; Medical student dies, two Malayalees sustain serious injuries

CHENNAI: A student died after the car carrying medical students rammed into a parked wooden lorry in Thiruporur. The dead is Misbah Fathima (21), a fourth-year MBBS student and a native of Vellore. Two Malayali students sustained injuries in the accident.


The accident happened Friday morning at 3 am. The seriously injured Malayali students identified as Navya (21) and Mohammed Ali (21) have been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. The accident happened when ten students were returning from Mahabalipuram in two cars. Misbah died on the spot.


The students that met with the accident are studying in Balaji Medical College, Chromepet. The car has been completely destroyed. The lorry was parked illegally on the Thiruporur bypass road. The police have registered a case against the lorry driver in the incident.
