PATNA: In a surprising move, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) parliamentary board appointed Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin as the national working president. Nitin will thus replace BJP chief JP Nadda. He is an MLA from Bankipur in Patna.
PM Modi’s response
“Shri Nitin Nabin Ji has distinguished himself as a hardworking Karyakarta. He is a young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience and has an impressive record as MLA as well as Minister in Bihar for multiple terms. He has diligently worked to fulfil people’s aspirations. He is known for his humble nature and grounded style of working. I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our Party in the times to come. Congratulations to him on becoming the BJP National Working President.”
Nitin, son of BJP leader Nabin Kishore Sinha, will thus likely become the youngest ever president in BJP’s history. At just 45 years of age, Nitin has accumulated rich organisational experience and is known among party workers as an efficient taskmaster, which belies his calm demeanour.
Nitin’s organisational prowess was last put into use by BJP in Chhattisgarh, where the party registered a thumping victory.
