PATHANAMTHITTA: Massive unrest in Pathanamthitta CPM after the defeat in the local body elections. Former MLA KC Rajagopalan has openly accused Area Secretary TV Stalin of being the reason for the party's defeat in the local bodies under the Kozhenchery Area Committee. Rajagopalan alleged that Stalin was behind the loss of the party votes he deserved and the loss of power in Mezhuveli. He also said that he won the election because some Congress members helped him. Rajagopalan won in the eighth ward of the Mezhuveli Panchayat with a majority of 28 votes.

"The area secretary is useless. He tried to defeat me. That's why I lost my majority. Stalin is the reason for the party's collapse in the Kozhencherry area. He came up by grabbing my shirt. He doesn't read newspapers or magazines anymore. He doesn't know what's going on in society. When I was removed from party responsibilities after turning 75, the area secretary and his friends celebrated by bursting crackers. People like him shouldn't be in the party. He is trying to replace Veena George in the Aranmula assembly elections. No one in the Mezhuveli panchayat who knows him will vote for him. It was Congress members and literate voters who voted for me," said KC Rajagopal.

Meanwhile, Area Secretary T.V. Stalin responded that Rajagopalan's statement was contrary to the facts. He clarified that the complaint should be made within the party.
