THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan came to the fore harshly criticizing the CPI. He alleged that the CPI is akin to Chathiyan Chandu, the betrayer. Meanwhile, he lashed at a journalist and pushed aside a mike. Vellappally said the government is not giving permission to the SNDP to start educational institutions in Malappuram, Wayanad and Kasaragod. He lashed at the journalist when asked if he had not been trying to get permission for the last nine years.
In response to a question about allegations that he is a communalist, Vellappally said that permission is not being given to start an educational institution in three districts of the Malabar region. He added that the government is not giving permission as it is not possible to purchase land.
'I have said earlier that former devaswom board president A Padmakumar is a fraud. You should ask them why the CPM is not taking action. The CPIs are betrayers. They have been with them for ten years and after achieving everything are now rejecting them. The criticism should be from within the party. Not from outside. The Pinarayi government itself will come to power a third time,' Vellappally clarified. He mentioned Pinarayi's name with clenched fists.
Vellappally also responded to the controversy of getting into the chief minister's car during Ayyappa Sangam. He asked what was wrong with him getting into the chief minister's car and whether he was from an untouchable caste.
