Four of a Malayali family killed in accident in Medina; three in ICU

MEDINA: Four of a family belonging to Malappuram were killed in an accident that happened near Medina in Saudi Arabia. The dead has been identified as Abdul Jaleel (52) of Vellila in Manjeri, his mother Maimunath (73), wife Tasna (40) and their son Aadhil Jaleel (14). The accident happened Saturday evening at Wadi al-Fara on Jeddah-Medina Road. The GMC vehicle they were travelling in collided with a lorry carrying grass.

The family were on their way to visit Medina after performing Umrah in Mecca. Tasna and her children visited Abdul Jaleel, who was working in Jeddah, on a visiting visa. Maimoonath was on Umrah visa.

Jaleel’s three other children Noora, Ayesha and Fathima sustained serious injuries. They are presently in the ICU of King Fahd and Saudi German hospitals in Medina. KMCC leaders of Medina identified as Shafeeq, Jaleel, Hafzi, Rafeeq and Mubarak are trying to complete the legal proceedings of the dead.
