
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two Vande Bharat sleeper trains and one Amrit Bharat train may be permitted for Kerala soon. Kerala is the first to get the draw as the assembly elections are approaching. 12 sleeper Vande Bharat trains will be launched this year. Other states that are going to polls along with Kerala may also get trains. Report says that only after these states are given trains, other states will be considered. The Amrit Bharat train is being considered from Ernakulam to Jogbani in Bihar. Vande Bharat trains are presently superhits in Kerala.
Route of Vande Bharat sleeper
The train has a total of 16 coaches. There are 823 berths in 11 third AC, four second AC and one first AC coaches. The service is scheduled to depart in the evening on the Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram-Bengaluru routes and reach its destination the next morning. It is also reported that this will be the fastest service on these routes.
Amrit Bharat will have only sleeper class and general second-class coaches. Since there is an engine on both sides, it will easily avail the push-pull system. This train aims migrant workers. It is not clear when the service will start from Ernakulam.
