THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that unusual developments are taking place across the world. Speaking at a press conference, he said that the US imperialism entered Venezuela and took the head of state hostage by ignoring the country's sovereignty. America is trying to overthrow the elected government and is suffocating the people through sanctions. The Chief Minister said that democratic forces across the world must raise their voice against this vile intrusion.
“The history of US military interventions across the world is soaked in blood. From Vietnam to Iraq, from Syria to Libya, and across Latin America, that blood is scattered everywhere. The United States has killed lakhs of innocent people to protect its economic and political interests. Nuclear weapons and chemical weapons have been used for this purpose. Challenging international law and human rights, the US carries out brutal attacks to impose regime change,” he said.
"What has happened in Venezuela today can happen in any other country in the world. This is a matter of serious concern. When Pakistani terrorists attacked innocent people in Pahalgam, India sought the support of other countries and asked them to speak up and stand with it. India sent delegations to foreign countries to ensure global solidarity in the fight against terrorism. The people of Venezuela also deserve the international support that we sought at that time," the CM said.
"Instead of viewing this imperialist move that has shocked the conscience of humanity with seriousness, the central government is trying to downplay it and is eager to display submission to the United States. In the press statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, even the name of the United States was not mentioned. The central government is unable even to protest against the US President, who issues statements insulting India almost every day. The Congress, which claims to be the main opposition party in the country, is also following the same path," he added.
