THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details have been released from the remand report of Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru, who was arrested in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The report states that the Tantri was complicit in the violation of ritual. The SIT states that the Tantri had an earlier relationship with Unnikrishnan Potty and that the Tantri gave permission to take away the gold plates using that relationship.
The Tantri conspired with Potty to take away the door frame plates. The door frame plates were handed over without following Tantric rules. The report also says that the gold plates were handed over without taking the permission of the deva. The SIT also says that when the Devaswom Board handed over the gold plates, the Tantri did not stop it and instead gave a criminal silent consent to the plates being taken away. However, the report does not mention financial transactions.
Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru is the 13th accused in the Sabarimala gold robbery case. The SIT summoned the Tantri for questioning on Friday morning. He was arrested in the afternoon after hours of questioning. Meanwhile, Tantri responded that he had done nothing wrong. This was the Tantri's response when he was taken to the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital for a medical examination. When asked by the media whether he had been framed, Rajeevaru nodded and agreed. He then got into the SIT's vehicle and left. After completing the medical examination, Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru was taken to be produced before the Kollam Vigilance Magistrate.
