THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The United Democratic Front (UDF) has come forward with a new strategy amidst the assembly session. The UDF MLAs are staging a satyagraha at the entrance of the assembly to protest the gold theft case. This move by the UDF is without disrupting the assembly proceedings. MLAs Najeeb Kanthapuram and CR Mahesh are staging the satyagraha.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan said the protest is being held demanding the resignation of the devaswom minister in connection with the gold theft. The chief minister's office should not put pressure on the SIT. He added that the UDF is moving forward with this protest in cooperation with the assembly proceedings.

However, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the protest is against the Kerala high court. This cannot be considered as a protest against the government. The high court is looking into the affairs of the SIT and taking necessary steps. He added that although the protest by the opposition leader is at the entrance of the assembly, it is actually considered as a protest against the high court.
