
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Police have announced an investigation into the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar in a plane crash. The DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has also started an investigation to find out the cause of the plane crash. The plane crashed and exploded while trying to land for the second time. It is reported that there was no technical problem.
Meantime, Ajit Pawar's brother Srinivas Pawar informed that the last rites of Ajit Pawar will be held in Baramati tomorrow. The body is presently kept in Baramati Medical College. All four who were with Ajit Pawar lost their lives in the accident. A security officer, an aide, a pilot and a crew member are those dead in the accident.
The accident happened when Ajit Pawar was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati in Maharashtra in a private plane at around 8.45 am today. The plane that crashed was completely burnt. The plane crashed just before an emergency landing. Eyewitnesses said the plane exploded after falling. Rescue efforts started immediately, but no one's life could be saved.
