Gunfire and robbery in Hyderabad; malayali businessman shot in front of SBI ATM

HYDERABAD: A Malayali businessman was shot and robbed in Koti, Hyderabad. The victim was VP Rinshid, a native of Kozhikode. He was shot in the leg and robbed of six lakh.

Rinshid, a garments merchant, had come to buy clothes near Charminar. Since Rinshid did not get the clothes he expected, he decided to deposit the money he brought at the bank. He reached an ATM with his friend on a bike in the morning of January 31. Rinshad says that while he was depositing the money, two unknown men approached him and threatened him with guns. When Rinshid resisted, he was shot in the leg. The unidentified assailants fired twice.

The robbers escaped with the money and the bike keys. The police have started an investigation into the incident. After the attack, the accused, who went to Chaderghat and from there to Kachiguda, changed their clothes, abandoned the vehicle and fled. The police are examining CCTV footage to arrest the accused. Rinshid, who was admitted to the hospital with injuries, is out of danger.
