PATHANAMTHITTA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleged that it was the Congress Devaswom Board in 2004 that let Unnikrishnan Potty enter Sabarimala. The Chief Minister was inaugurating the LDF Central Region 'Vikasana Munnetta Jatha'. "The propaganda is that it was the LDF government that brought Potty to Sabarimala. Potty came in 2004. The then Devaswom Minister was a high-ranking All India leader of today's Congress. Since then, Potty has been getting the opportunity to play all kinds of games. The opposition ran away from the discussion in the assembly to avoid discussing all this, the Chief Minister said.
"The allegations regarding the Sabarimala Peedam (pedestal) and Unnikrishnan Potty came to the fore just before the Sabarimala Ayyappa Sangamam. It was done to tarnish the glory of the Ayyappa Sangamam. Vigilance investigated. The Peedam was at Potty's sister's house. Vigilance and police did not stop there. The criminals in hiding were caught. It does not matter who they are. The government has no mercy on those who have done wrong. The High Court has made it clear that no external force is interfering in the investigation. No one who was involved in the crime will escape," the Chief Minister clarified.
"How did Potty reach Sonia Gandhi's house? It is in a highly secure place. Many leaders cannot even enter. That's where Potty entered. Those who stole gold and bought gold came to Sonia. What is Potty's relationship with Congress? Who knows what that relationship is?" the Chief Minister asked.
