MALAPPURAM: The police seized a massive cache of explosives trying to smuggle inside a lorry carrying onions. The incident happened at Chemmad in Malappuram. Gelatin sticks and detonator wires were seized. The explosives were hidden in boxes in a lorry carrying onions. The lorry driver fled from the spot. The lorry was parked inside a hollow bricks shop in Chemmad.

A vehicle arrived last night to transfer the onions to a smaller lorry. Some people also came in a car along with this. Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot and soon the people fled. The cache of explosives was found during a police search. The lorry bearing the registration number 'KL 10 BF 8395' was taken into police custody.
