
PATHANAMTHITTA: Pathanamthitta SP R Anand assured strict action against police officials amid suspicion that police officials were involved in the Thiruvalla Spa gang-rape case. Anand said the police received no complaint on the day of the drastic incident on February 1. The officers received the information about it only the next day. SP Anand said that immediate action was taken upon receiving information, and he even assured all possible assistance to the victim.
"Thiruvalla DySP took a statement from the spa owner. There will be an investigation into the case. There are six accused in the case. A detailed investigation will be conducted into the allegations against another employee of the centre. The victim's detailed statement has been recorded.
CCTV will also be examined in the case. There are doubts over the involvement of a suspended police officer in the case. A report was submitted. The accused have been taken into custody, and a medical examination done. The preliminary findings point out that the woman was gangraped after she denied money to the goons,”'- SP clarified.
KAAPA case accused Subin Alexander (29) and Berlin Das (38) were arrested by the Thiruvalla police on the complaint of the woman. Four accused are absconding.
