THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran is in trouble again in the Sabarimala gold theft case. A new picture of Kadakampally Surendran with Unnikrishnan Potty, the first accused in the case who was released on bail, has surfaced. It is reported that this picture was taken when the ex-minister visited Unnikrishnan Potty's house for the second time.
The picture shows Kadakampally Surendran giving a gift to Potty's uncle's daughter who received a rank for her degree. However, it is not clear why the minister came to that house. Uncle Venkateswaran Potty has confirmed that Potty asked his daughter to come to his house in Pulimath when the minister came.
A picture of Kadakampally Surendran arriving at Potty's house on a different day had also first surfaced. Former Ranni MLA and current CPM Pathanamthitta district secretary Raju Abraham was with Kadakampally Surendran that day. The picture showed Kadakampally Surendran and Raju Abraham standing with Unnikrishnan Potty and his family members. Another picture had also emerged of Kadakampally Surendran presenting a prize to Unnikrishnan Potty's father.
The Special Investigation Team has expanded its investigation into Unnikrishnan Potty's high-level connections. The investigation team will question more people. There is also a move to summon Kadakampally Surendran again.
