Subita left husband and two children for illicit relationship; uncle arrested in Tamil Nadu for shocking murder

NAGERCOIL: Uncle arrested for murdering niece. The victim was Subita (28), wife of Arun Prashant, a native of Kulalar Street, Thalakulam. Subita's uncle Rajesh (45) surrendered at the Eraniel police station.

The incident is as follows: Arun Prashanth and Subita have been married for 10 years. They have two sons. Arun works as a carpenter and Subita works in a clothing store in Nagercoil. Subita fell in love with Aneesh, a native of Thumba Vilai. This was a constant problem between the couple. Subita and Aneesh met in secret despite constant disputes with Arun.

Subitha went to her mother's house following a fight, leaving her children with her husband. She kept meeting Aneesh after this in private. On the night of the incident, Subita's uncle Rajesh noticed Subitha talking to Aneesh on the phone. Rajesh reprimanded Subitha severely, which turned into an argument. As the fight escalated, Subitha shoved Rajesh, who is disabled. Rajesh, who fell to the floor, picked up a sickle and slashed Subitha on the head and body. Subitha, who was severely hurt, went into her room and closed the door. She did not come out that night. When the locals broke down the door the next day, they found Subitha lying dead in a pool of blood. The police shifted the body to Asaripallam Medical College Hospital in Nagercoil for a postmortem. The accused was remanded.
