THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state leadership has sought an explanation from the BJP leader after Thiruvananthapuram Corporation closed a Spa Centre that was operating illegally in the capital city. The leadership sought an explanation in the midst of a widespread campaign in cyberspace involving the party's name following the information that the spa's license is in the name of the BJP leader's father.
The spa's license is in the name of S Manoharan of Pangode, father of minority morcha state general secretary M P Shine Lal. However, Shine Lal told media that although the license is in his father's name, the center was handed over to someone else months ago. Shine Lal informed that the process of transferring it to that person’s name is progressing.
Shine said the party has not sought any official explanation from him in the incident and that he is not aware of the campaign on social media. Shine clarified that he is on an organizational journey and that license was not obtained even after applying it long time back and as it was running at a loss, handed it over to someone else.
Strict inspections were initiated at Spas under the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation limits after the shocking incident of a Spa employee being gang-raped in Thiruvalla. Mayor V V Rajesh had informed the media that the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and the city police are jointly conducting the move.
