ARUVIPPURAM: Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that Sree Narayana Guru is the incarnation of Lord Krishna, who was born to eradicate the injustice that existed in the society. The Governor was speaking as the chief guest at the Pratishtha Message Conference on the occasion of the 138th anniversary of the Jyotirlinga installation by Sree Narayana Guru at Aruvippuram.
"Lord Krishna has said that whenever there is a decline in the value of Dharma, then he will incarnate. Sree Narayana Guru is the Vishwaguru who took incarnation to eliminate wrong practices in society, like the caste system. The anniversary of the Shivalinga installation conducted by Sree Narayana Guru, the great guru of social renaissance, is a special milestone where spirituality and social awareness converge. Sree Narayana Guru's messages, which upheld human equality, brotherhood and compassion, are still a guide for society today. The idea of putting forward the eternal Dharma that all gods are one and everyone is one community is the core of Sree Narayana Guru's verse 'One caste, one religion, one God for man'. Sree Narayana Guru also puts forward the eternal idea of 'Sarva Deva namaskaram keshavam pratigachati…'. Such an ideal is what inspired the Aruvippuram installation. Everyone has a responsibility to help the disadvantaged and those in need of help. Celebrations like Mahashivratri should inspire introspection and taking a pledge for the welfare of the society," the Governor said.
Governor sang the national anthem
Governor Arlekar sang the national anthem at the function. This was after the 'Jana Gana Mana', which was supposed to be played at the end of the meeting attended by the Governor, was not heard as per protocol. The reason was that the pen drive where the national anthem was copied and stored had malfunctioned. As the Governor started singing, MLA C.K. Harindran and the audience on the stage sang the national anthem along. While leaving the stage, he approached the microphone operator Nitin and asked what had happened. The governor left after calming the frightened operator.
