KOCHI: Former ISRO scientist and Padmabhushan recipient Nambi Narayanan has said that Chandrayaan-2 moon mission is a total failure and the agency claim of 98% success is absurd. He pointed out that it’s time for Asian countries to work together in the space sector. Chandrayaan 2’s mission was to soft-land on the moon, but that was a complete failure, he said.
The Padmabhushan recipient further questioned the audacity of ISRO to call the mission as 98% successful. It would have been decent if ISRO had admitted that the mission was a 100% failure. Nambi Narayanan opined that there is a necessity for an association of Asian countries in the space sector, just like the European Space Agency, from which all the participants would benefit.
