THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar said that he maintained a fair and impartial approach with late former chief minister Oommen Chandy. He said that he expected a fatherly advice from Oommen Chandy in his family issues instead of adding fuel to the fire. In an interview with a news channel, he said that it was not he who had treated him unfairly in political matters. Chandy Oommen MLA had recently alleged that Ganesh Kumar had blamed his father in the solar case controversy. Ganesh Kumar stepped forward against this.
‘I did not have any issues with Oommen Chandy till his death. I am someone who respects and adores him as a person. I said that my family life was ruined, it is a personal matter. Instead of adding fuel to the fire, he could have advised me like a father. This campaign is surfacing as elections are approaching. Was it me who treated Oommen Chandy unfairly? Was it me who made Congress leaders Ramesh Chennithala and V D Satheesan, opposition leaders when he was alive,’asked the minister.
Chandy Oommen had recently said that the relationship between his father and senior Congress leader R Balakrishna Pillai and Ganesh Kumar’s father, was strong. He added that just as his father loved him, he also loved Ganesh Kumar, and that he used to call Ganesh Kumar’s mother ‘Aunty’.
How the controversial 18-page letter in the solar case became 24 pages and that is under the consideration of the court. It has been alleged that Oommen Chandy’s name was included in the 18-page letter.
