ABU DHABI: First UAE ambassador to India and senior Emirati diplomat Hussain Hassan Mirza said one phone call from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel and Iran can end the ongoing tensions. A phone conversation between Modi and the leaders of both countries can resolve the issue. This is due to Modi's great influence and credibility among Gulf leaders and the general public, Mirza told a national media.
Mirza believes that Modi's close ties with Iran and Israel will strengthen these peace efforts. Mirza said that he does not want to be involved in the present conflict and will not allow the UAE's soil to be used as a base to attack another country.
Meantime, despite Mojtaba Khamenei taking charge as Iran's new supreme leader, attacks continue in the region. Israel carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah bases in central Iran and Beirut the other day. According to figures submitted by Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, 1,332 citizens have been killed and thousands injured.
