KOZHIKODE: Speaker A N Shamseer has responded to the serious allegations raised by Bindu Menon, the wife of minister K B Ganesh Kumar, against her husband. The Speaker said the issue is now a closed chapter. According to him, the matter reported by the media was a family issue that appears to have been resolved by the couple themselves.

“The media reported what Bindu Menon said. Later, she herself said that the issue had been settled. I do not believe family matters will turn into political issues. There is no need to make it a political issue,” Shamseer said.

He also pointed out that the Assembly is not currently in session. “Within two or three days, elections will be announced. After that, the people will decide,” he added.

Meanwhile, there are indications that the allegations made by the minister’s wife have been settled. Bindu Menon said that Ganesh Kumar had apologised. She stated that Ganesh Kumar spoke to her sister and expressed regret.

“Since I did not answer the phone yesterday, Ganesh spoke to my sister. He said he made a mistake and apologised. I do not want to pursue this legally. What I said yesterday was an emotional reaction. There have been many issues over the years, but I am not leaving the relationship. Everyone can make mistakes. Because he is a minister, it became public. There is no need for him to apologise to society; it is enough if he apologises to me. I request everyone not to continue discussions about this on social media,” Bindu Menon said.
