'G Sudhakaran is party's asset, decision to contest as independent unfortunate'; CPM Gen secretary MA Baby responds

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM General Secretary M A Baby ruled out reports that it was the humiliation faced from the party that forced G Sudhakaran to contest as an independent. MA Baby called Sudhakaran’s decision to contest as an independent candidate regrettable.

“The Left Democratic Front is considering candidates and holding discussions related to it. Meanwhile, it is very unfortunate that a person like Comrade G Sudhakaran, who has been working in the party for a long time, has declared himself as an independent candidate. The party meeting is being held tomorrow. I came to know through the media that G Sudhakaran will contest as an independent candidate.

I had tried to dissuade him. I spoke to him on the phone. I will respond after discussing other matters with the party. Sudhakaran is an asset of our party, and we cannot in any circumstances humiliate such a leader. It may be fake accounts on social media that might have targeted him,” said MA Baby.
