Internal friction in Kasaragod DCC over Sandeep Warrier’s candidacy, emergency meeting scheduled

KASARAGOD: Dissatisfaction has surfaced within the Kasaragod District Congress Committee (DCC) following reports that Sandeep Warrier is being considered for the Thrikaripur constituency. Local activists and DCC leadership allege that the decision, reportedly made under KPCC instructions, bypassed essential local consultations.

Protesters warn that fielding an "outsider" while overlooking popular local leaders could lead to a significant electoral setback. In response to the growing unrest, an emergency DCC meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow. Key leaders, including District President P.K. Faisal, Balakrishnan Periya, and KPCC General Secretaries Hakeem Kunnil and K. Neelakandan, are expected to attend to address the situation.
