Rahul Gandhi cancels Kerala visit over mother’s hospitalization

NEW DELHI: Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has cancelled his visit to Kerala. He cancelled his visit as his mother Sonia Gandhi has been hospitalized. He had decided to visit the election campaign programmes in Kozhikode.

It was earlier informed that Rahul Gandhi would address the activists at the maha rally to be held at the Kozhikode beach at 4:30 pm. Rahul's journey was scheduled to reach Karipur airport in a specially arranged bus after the Kozhikode event. For this, heavy security arrangements were made in Kozhikode city and around the airport. After Rahul's trip was canceled, it is reported that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will attend the rally in his place.

79-year-old Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi last night due to health issues. Ganga Ram Hospital Chairman Dr Ajay Swaroop said Sonia Gandhi was feeling unwell due to the change in weather and was under observation. A team of doctors is attending to her, but there is nothing serious.
