
NEW DELHI: Insects were found in the food served for the passengers in Vande Bharat Express. The incident came to light when one of the passengers shared the video of it. Soon many passengers came forward with similar complaints. The insects were found in the food served in Patna-Tata Nagar Vande Bharat Express. The railway ministry took strict action against the food distributors.
The railways imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Rs 50 lakh was imposed on the caterers. The company responsible for supplying food on the train has lost its contract.
The passenger shared a video on social media after finding insects in the Amul company's curd served in Vande Bharat. With this, people started expressing concern about the quality of food served in premium trains like Vande Bharat Express. Meantime, the railway ministry has made it clear that there is no compromise on the safety and quality of passengers. The Railway Ministry added that strict action will be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
