Stones pelted at train in Kozhikode; student sustain serious injuries; human rights commission takes case

KOZHIKODE: A student passenger sustained serious injuries when a stone was pelted at the train. The injured is Aishwarya Ramakrishnan (22) of Purameri. The stone was pelted at the Alappuzha-Kannur executive train that was coming to Kozhikode on Monday night. The stone was pelted when the train reached Feroke at around 10 pm. Aishwarya, who was sitting in a window seat, suffered injuries to her jaw and teeth.

When the train reached Kozhikode, the railway police shifted her to a private hospital. Aishwarya, a graduate student of Aluva UC College, was going home for vacation. The doctors advised a surgery. The railway police and the Human Rights Commission have registered a case in the incident. The Human Rights Commission had suo motu registered a case and ordered an investigation. Judicial member K Baijunath asked the Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager and Feroke Police Assistant Commissioner to conduct an investigation and submit a report within 15 days.
