KUWAIT CITY: Iran's drone attack in the Gulf countries has once again ignited the hearts of expatriates. The attacks were in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The drone attack took place at the Mina El Ahmadi oil refinery, which operates under the Kuwait National Oil Company. Following this, a fire broke out at the site. Firefighters are on the scene and are extinguishing the fire.
Reports say none sustained injuries in the attack. The Kuwaiti military said its air defense systems were working to intercept missiles and drones fired into the country. It is one of Kuwait's largest oil refineries, refining 730,000 barrels of oil per day.
The Saudi Arabian Defense Ministry said seven drone attacks had taken place. The ministry said all of the attacks had been repelled. Meanwhile, Mehr News Agency reported that Iran said it had shot down a US F-35 fighter jet in central Iran and that the pilot had no chance of escaping. A drone was also reported to have crashed on Friday morning at the Trebil border crossing between Iraq and Jordan.
