THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Malayalees across the world woke up on Wednesday morning, welcoming Vishu by viewing auspicious items—like Kanikonna flowers, gold, and fruits. Malayalees will celebrate Vishu by visiting temples, buying gifts and bursting crackers. Tens of thousands of devotees have arrived today at Guruvayur for darshan.

Despite the sweltering weather, the celebrations go on full swing in Kerala while the city roads are full of people adorned in traditional clothes. Temples of Lord Krishna are also experiencing a big rush of devotees today. A huge rush was also witnessed on Tuesday evening at shopping malls and vegetable shops across the city.
