KANNUR: In the wake of two party members getting arrested for alleged Maoist link, the CPM has begun an investigation to identify Maoist supporters within the party. It is learnt that a police report has suggested that there are around 1000 Maoist sympathisers within CPM.

According to sources, several members of the DYFI and SFI are under observation. The party also intends to hold fraction meets in order to identify the Maoist sympathisers.
