THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The things circulating in the social media related to the hartal have come to our notice, said DGP Lokanath Behera. The high court itself has ruled that a hartal should be observed only after giving notice seven days before. However, some have called for the hartal against the ruling. Law should be obeyed and police will take strict steps, the DGP said while talking to the media.

‘Things related to the hartal are before the high court. The police has to take action. Things related to hartal being circulated via Whatsapp have come to our notice. The high court has ruled that a hartal can be conducted only after giving notice seven days before. Anyone can go to the court against it. The court has to take a decision on it, he said.

The hartal is being observed by organisations like SDPI, BSP and SIO against the CAA. Noted Muslim organisations are against the hartal. The Kerala Vyapari Vyvasayi Association has clarified that they will not cooperate with the hartal. Meantime, protests against the bill are intensifying in the country.
