President Ram Nath Kovind will be visiting the Sabarimala temple next week for the darshan of the deity. The President’s office has given instructions to Kerala government to provide the security for the President during visit.
Reports say that Ram Nath Kovind will visit the holy shrine on January 6 after arriving at Kochi airport on January 5. Rashtrapathibhavan has communicated to the Devaswom Board, regarding the President’s visit and the Board has reportedly conveyed back the message that helipad would be arranged at Sannidhanam .
The board informed that there would be facility for helipad on water tank at Pandithavalam. Meanwhile, on the second day of Mandalam season, there was a heavy rush of devotees. Almost in every minute, 70 to 75 devotees are being allowed to enter the temple through the 18 steps.
The Makaravilakku is on January 15 and the temple will close after the season on January 21.
