KOTTAYAM: The Kerala Congress (M) faction, owing allegience to Jose K Mani, on Tuesday decided not to give up Kuttanad assembly seat to any of its allies in the upcoming by-election. The decision might pave way for an internal conflict in UDF as Kerala Congress (M) leadership appears to be adamant about fielding their own candidate.
During the leadership camp at Charalkunnu, leader Jose K Mani said that a representative of KC(M) will contest in the by-election with the two-leaves symbol. According to him, PJ Joseph misused the two-leaves symbol in the local elections and that is why the Election Commission had frozen the symbol as per the party's request. He also added that crucial decisions will be taken during the Charalkunnu camp.
