Actor Sreenivasan says he is not able to understand what people mean when they raise the slogan Long live the revolution. "After everything has been robbed and siphoned off, these people cry for revolution. What revolution? Are they saying that looting equals revolution?” The actor raised his points during a program aired on Kaumudy TV.
“Our coming generations should know what is happening in this world. For that, reading is essential. One shouldn’t just use the Internet to watch movies or forward gossip. We should be able to update ourselves about what is happening in different countries. I am not sure if people with such extensive reading habits will come to positions of power. It is my belief that it should happen. We have seen it long ago in Russia when the brutal Tsar regime was thrown out of power. That change will also come here, if things become unbearable.”
“People often say Long live revolution, Long live revolution. What is the revolution they keep on harping about? They fight in the elections as per the constitution of the land, win, and go on to become MLAs, ministers, and chief ministers…and after, that they yell, Long live revolution. After everything has been stripped and robbed, they weep for revolution. What revolution? Looting? Is that revolution?”
