Body of Corona patient in Kochi won’t be handed over to relatives: Health Minister

KOCHI: Health Minister K K Shailaja has told media that the Corona positive senior citizen man who died in Kochi had serious other health complications, which further put his life at risk.

“A maximum effort was put in to save the life of the patient. There are four others who are going through similar conditions. Some of them are old people and others have other diseases,” she said.

The health minister said health workers are observing high alert. She clarified that the dead person’s body won’t be handed over to his relatives. “We have shown his body to his relatives through video. The last rites will be held very careful, abiding by the protocol.

Only four relatives will be allowed to take part in the funeral,” she added. The dead person was Mattanchery Chullikkal native Yakub Husain Sait
