Parents in quarantine, 11-month-old baby dies after falling into bucket

PALAKKAD: An 11-month-old baby died of drowning after falling into a bucket. The baby identified as Muhammed Nissan was the son of Muhammed Saddique of Chalisseri in Palakkad. The baby’s mother saw the baby lying upside down in the bucket full of water in the bathroom. The incident happened last night at 9.45 pm.

Though he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. As the baby’s uncle (father’s brother) who came from Indore is under treatment for COVID-19, his parents are in home quarantine. The body of the baby is kept at the mortuary of Thrissur Medical College Hospital. The samples of the baby have been sent for COVID test. Police said the post-mortem will be held after getting the results of the test.
