THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran on Friday said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan cannot keep himself away from taking up the responsibility regarding the interference of the Chief Minister's office and principal secretary's role in the gold smuggling case. While stating that the government's efforts to curb the ongoing protest will go in vain, he added that the state would witness widespread protest until Pinarayi Vijayan submits his resignation.
"Minister Jayarajan had threatened that those who participate in the protest will die of COVID-19. The minister is insulting the people's protest through such a statement. It is the government that is violating the COVID restrictions by using police force to suppress the protest. This government has used the period of COVID-19 for corruption and smuggling,"
