KOCHI: Swapna Suresh and Sarith Nair, the first and second accused in the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case, were shifted to the COVID care centres on Sunday. While Swapna was shifted to the Ambilikkala hostel in Thrissur, Sarith was moved to the COVID care centre at Karukutty in Angamaly. It is learnt that the COVID test results of the two will be obtained by Monday. Earlier, the NIA court had remanded the two for 14 days.

Meanwhile, reports claim that NIA will submit a plea seeking 10-day custody of the accused on Monday. If the test results come out negative the two will be produced before the court and sent in custody.
