THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has cancelled long distance inter-district bus services that were scheduled to resume from Saturday. The bus services were cancelled following a warning from the health department. It has been decided that the long-distance bus services will resume only after conducting more number of COVID tests across the state.
"Considering the increase in COVID cases among the KSRTC employees and the increase in containment zones across the state, the decision to resume long-distance services have been cancelled," Transport minister AK Saseendran said. While stating that several depots in the state had to be closed down due to the pandemic, he added that there is a chance of re-evaluating decision on short-service bus services within each district.
