NEW DELHI: The CPM central leadership has come out in support of Kerala minister KT Jaleel who was probed by the Enforcement Directorate on Friday. While stating that the Enforcement Directorate had only collected details from Jaleel, it said that there is no need for Jaleel to resign from his post. The central leadership also denied rumours regarding the Polit bureau discussing the matter.

Meanwhile, both Congress as well as BJP have lashed out at KT Jaleel and have demanded his resignation. According to opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, Jaleel must resign immediately as this was the first time that a Kerala minister was interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate. BJP state president K Surendran has also launched protests against the minister
