MALAPPURAM: Qurans was accepted on KT Jaleel’s direction, said president of Malappuram Panthavur Irashad college Aboobaker Siddique Moulavi. He also said that his institution has never demanded holy Quran to the minister. The minister has earlier called him to enquire whether he can distribute the holy religious scripture, if some are given to the college. At that time, there were no controversies against him and the college management decided to accept it.

“When the row erupted minister has advised us not to distribute it and the police as well as intelligence team has collected information from us,” he said.

“When we stared to distribute the Qurans, the minister had called us to enquire whether the religious scriptures were distributed and I told him that the arrangements were made for it and we have only unpacked one of the Qurans as sample and the minister said not to distribute and he will inform the subsequent details,” Aboobaker Siddique Moulavi told media.
