KOCHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will commence the demolition works of the Palarivattom flyover on Monday morning, Minister G Sudhakaran said. The demolition works will take place during day and night. It is learnt that the officials of the DMRC had held talks with representatives of Uralungal Service Society regarding the demolition works.
The minister said that authorities are considering the possibility of using the concrete pieces for constructing a seawall in Chellanam. Speaking about the construction of the bridge, the minister said that the new bridge will be one of the best constructions in the state. "DMRC has submitted the final plan regarding this construction of the bridge. 'Carbon Fibre Wrapping' will be used to strengthen the pillars of the new flyover," the minister said.
