Yellow alert in seven districts of state, heavy rains predicted till Tuesday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Kerala till Tuesday. There will be heavy rainfall in North Kerala. Yellow alert has been sounded in Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod districts. Heavy rains have been predicted tomorrow and day after tomorrow in Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod districts. However, there is no obstruction to fishing off the coast of Kerala. There were strong rains today in many districts including Thiruvananthapuram.

New low pressure is likely to form again in the Bay of Bengal by October 14. The Meteorological Department has forecast that the monsoon will recede and the arrival of the monsoon season will be delayed due to continuous low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.
