THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ED has said that there are irregularities in the life mission project and it has not violated any rights of the assembly. The agency also added that it has the power to summon government officers with the files concerned. ED has told this in its official reply to the letter sent by the secretary of the legislative assembly in connection with the probe agency summoning government files.

The ethics and privileges committee of Kerala assembly has sent a notice to ED for demanding the files of life mission. The assembly panel sought an explanation from the agency on the complaint of James Mathew MLA.

James Mathew in his complaint has alleged that by summoning all files on life mission case, ED has violated the rights of the legislative assembly. The MLA has also said in his plaint that due to the probe agency’s intervention the government project is on a standstill.
